Join us Monday February 12th and learn how to deal with the books and other historical paperwork we come across so that we may best serve the interests of our clients.
First and foremost; we need to know what is NOT important. When we have sorted out unimportant books, magazines, periodicals, etc., we still need some structure to determine, from what’s left, what MAY be useful today and also have sufficient commercial value.
Come out and meet Dr. David Howell as he shares his years of knowledge with us. David has operated in Edmonton for nearly twenty years, first on Whyte Avenue at several locations and online since 2005 as Howell Books with Abebooks.com. With a PhD in sport and social history from the University of Alberta and his work on several archives and as an historian with the City of Edmonton, Dr. David Howell is an expert in sorting out what books, papers, photographs and pamphlets are of value today.
There are many reasons why books and papers are not important today. There was a time when anything old looked great to the generation that remembered it in action; not so for today’s generation. Join us as David briefly explores why that is.
