Presented by Kim Diamond
Our Vice-chair, Kim Diamond, will be talking about the not-so-pretty part of organizing: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). At every level of organizing, there may be hazards to consider. From dust, grease and paper cuts all the way to needles and biohazards, there are all kinds of PPE to keep you safe and injury-free. Using the ICD Clutter-Hoarding Scale as a guide, Kim will show you appropriate gear to wear for each level and based on the environments you are working in. This applies to clean homes that just need a few closets done all the way to a top level hoarding environment. You will learn what your limits might be and when to hand off a job to an extreme cleaning company or another suitable professional. Kim will show you where to get the right gear and what you should always have in your organizing kit in case you find some surprises on the job. Join us for an informative (and humorous) presentation. Who says safety has to be boring!
