Our chapter includes all of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our current membership stretches from Victoria to Courtenay.
Formed in 2006, we are a small but growing group, energetically supporting each other and our communities. We invite professional organizers and guests in related fields, as well as those interested in learning more about this profession, to join us at our regular meetings.
Our casual and enthusiastic meetings are held on the third Wednesday, every other month, (with the exception of July, August and December) from 6:30-9:00pm. We also enjoy a summer and winter social get together. We meet at the Church of the Advent, 510 Mount View Avenue, in Colwood.
We welcome visitors to our meetings, where we make the most of our "in-house" expertise. At every meeting we set a topic for discussion and have in-depth conversations about topics such as personal safety, using contracts, initial interviews, organizing tools and marketing strategies. We also arrange for speakers to attend to provide pertinent information regarding our organizing industry; up-to-date recycling practices and selling clients' belongings are a sample of what you might expect.
We allow time at our meetings for Q&A and information-sharing amongst members and potential members, as well as some informal networking. Our goal is to provide educational opportunities that are relevant and interesting to our members. If there is a topic you would like covered or you would like to present to our membership, let us know!
Our chapter covers a large area, and we feel it is important to support and inform all of our members. In response to sufficient expression of interest, we will "take our show on the road" to Nanaimo, where we will hold a lunch-time meeting. This allows for up-Island members to participate in and benefit from belonging to our chapter. As well, Victoria chapter members offer overnight billeting to accommodate out-of-town members and guests who wish to attend meetings in Victoria.
A $5 meeting fee will be charged to guests. There is no charge for POC members.
