The Grand River Chapter includes more than 20 Professional Organizers, who are proud and passionate about our work, committed to supporting each other as colleagues, and dedicated to promoting the field of Professional Organizing and POC.
Have a look at our Grand River promotional video to hear what some of our members say about organizing!
The Grand River Chapter formed in 2003 with just 4 members, and was originally known as the Southwestern Ontario Chapter. Today our membership consists of both experienced and beginning organizers, solo and partner businesses, those who teach, and residential and business organizers with a wide range of specialties: closet and garage organizing, hoarders and the chronically disorganized, home staging and redesign, seniors and downsizing moves, event planning and photo organizing.
If you're looking for a Professional Organizer in our region, please use Find an Organizer to specify your location and particular needs. We're sure you will find a 'fit' with one of our caring professionals. If you're thinking about becoming a Professional Organizer, please contact us and come to a meeting. You'll find a wealth of experience and knowledge, an atmosphere of sharing and support, opportunities to network, and ways to get involved and learn new skills - as well as guest speakers and educational events. We'll also put you in touch with an experienced Grand River member, who will be happy to meet with you informally to answer your questions and tell you more about our Chapter, POC and the organizing industry in general.
As our original name implied, the chapter initially covered all areas west of Toronto! With POC's growth and other chapters emerging in the region, our catchment area changed and in 2011 we adopted the more accurate name of the Grand River Chapter. We now welcome members from throughout Waterloo Region and the following counties: Wellington, Brant, Oxford and Perth.
Grand River's chapter meetings are held on the second Thursday morning of the month, 9:00-11:00am, in the Optimist Room at the Hespeler Memorial Arena, 640 Ellis Road, Cambridge ON N3C 4K1. Meetings offer an opportunity to network and share information, and we regularly have educational speakers. They are free to members; guests are welcome for a maximum of three meetings, at a guest fee of $20/meeting. (Note: there are no regular chapter meetings in the summer months of July & August, we often hold a mid-Summer Social instead. December's meeting may be a social gathering as well.)
Please see Chapter Events, below, for more details on upcoming Chapter Meetings and other events.
