Affiliates
POC, NAPO and ICD are affiliates offering certain reciprocal rights to one another's members. POC teleclasses are open to all professional organizers, and offer relevant and convenient education. NAPO members are welcome to attend the Annual POC conference at member rates. Also, NAPO Golden Circle members are welcome at our Silver Leaf sessions. This is a great opportunity to network with leaders in the industry on both sides of the border.
The Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD) is an organization whose role is to explore, create and disseminate to professional organizers and related professionals, organizing methods, techniques, approaches and solutions that will benefit chronically disorganized people. POC members who wish to learn more about chronic disorganization are invited to find out more about ICD by clicking the link below.

IFPOA - The International Federation of Professional Organizing Associations

In Vancouver, BC on November 2, 2007 Professional Organizers in Canada (POC), along with its U.S. based counterparts, the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD), were pleased to announce the signing of a new agreement that creates an International Federation of Professional Organizers (IFPOA).
It's an historic milestone that reflects the rapid growth of our professional industry.
Discussions on creating the IFPOA began in earnest in January of 2007. The three founding associations have already established some basic operational guidelines which will allow for the exchange of non-confidential information including best practices, challenges and statistics.
The agreement is intended to create a global community of professional organizing associations to elevate the organizing industry worldwide. Its mission is to foster collaboration that will advance the industry through the sharing of information and ideas. Everything that is being adopted is already happening informally. The establishment of IFPOA simply puts some structure around it and will ensure that this communication will continue in the future no matter who occupies top positions of leadership in each association.
Our profession is rapidly expanding around the world and it is only a matter of time before other professional organizing associations will be invited to join IFPOA. |
